Direct WordPress mode runs on your site and connects a personal ChatGPT app without a Node server. A hosted customer workspace uses the separate Studio service and its Stripe plans. Hosted purchases do not yet activate paid direct-mode licensing.
Register with your name, email address and a password of at least 12 characters. Use a unique password and keep it private. Your website account gives you a place to view your purchased allowance, daily usage and support options.
The website account password is not your WordPress application password or your workspace owner password. Keep these separate so that revoking one connection does not require sharing your main WordPress login.
Select 500 daily requests for $1,000, 1,000 daily requests for $1,800 or Unlimited for $2,500. Checkout takes place on Stripe’s hosted payment page. The website does not collect card numbers itself.
Payment confirmation is processed by a verified Stripe webhook. A payment method that is still pending does not unlock access. After a confirmed purchase, the dashboard shows your plan. Your operator then provisions the WordPress workspace associated with your account.
Install the WPBridge Studio companion on a staging site first. Create a dedicated WordPress user with only the permissions your intended workflow needs. Generate an application password from that user’s profile and provide it to the operator through an agreed secure onboarding method.
Application passwords are displayed once by WordPress. Do not paste them into a public support ticket or an ordinary chat. The site’s main login password should not be used for the bridge.
The operator provides your workspace MCP URL and a separate owner password. Add that URL through the supported custom connector flow in your ChatGPT account, choose OAuth, and complete the owner authorization form once.
The form is valid for 15 minutes. If you complete it, wait for the return to ChatGPT rather than submitting the old form again. A used authorization request cannot be replayed. If it expires before completion, start a fresh request from the existing connector.
Ask ChatGPT to list the sites, call site_status and read /wp/v2/users/me for each. A successful authenticated response confirms the connection is reaching the correct WordPress user. Check the returned site and user identity rather than treating a generic “connected” message as proof.
Only enable writing after read-only verification succeeds. Writing must be enabled in both the workspace and the companion’s settings. Use a disposable draft for a first write test and keep a backup before changing important content.
The dashboard shows requests used today and the plan allowance. Daily usage resets at 00:00 UTC. Revoking the WordPress application password removes site authorization; disconnecting the ChatGPT connector removes that client’s access. Ask support if you need the operator to suspend a workspace or investigate a connection error.
